GAO reviewed the Department of Agriculture's (USDA), Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) new rule on National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program: Nutrition Standards for All Foods Sold in School. GAO found that the interim final rule amends the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program regulations to establish nutrition standards for all foods sold in schools; and the USDA complied with applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
